A shadow fell over him, and somehow Rose was right there, staring down at him, looking extremely different; with longer hair and older eyes. He made to protest, realising what had happened; where she was from, but she bent down and stopped him with a sweet, firm kiss. And then it was over, and without saying a word, she walked away.
He followed her with his eyes, down a dark alley and into the TARDIS, where a considerably older looking version of himself was waiting for her, wearing a blue suit and a solemn expression.
He took a deep, shuddering breath and ran to catch up with Rose.

This bothers me every time I watch Journey’s End. Rose looks different. I don’t know why, or what it is that’s wrong, but she’s just not the same. She’s got less makeup on, and I hear Billie Piper had some work done on her teeth, and I guess she looks a little bit older, but I don’t think it’s any of those things. It’s impossible to place, and it drives me crazy. What is it?
I think everyone noticed this, and to be honest I just think she got older. Yes, she did get her teeth done, the top ones, and apparently it was during that weird “getting used to them” transition for her, so that’s what the lisp was all about. If you think about it it was a few years different from when she was last on the show, so she grew up. She had also been doing Call Girl at the time, so she couldn’t really have her roots grow out.
I think she’d lost some weight, too, and honestly I think she looked better with a bit of plump on her.
